Dramatic footage filmed on March 15 shows police officers in Durham, UK arresting 17 suspects in an operation that also dismantled a GBP 2.5-million cannabis farm hidden at an abandoned pub.

In a day of action under Operation Trident, Durham Constabulary arrested 14 men and three women, for a range of offenses such as burglary, theft, child neglect, and cannabis cultivation.

The operation is Durham Constabulary's response to neighborhood crime. The arrests bring the total number of apprehended suspects to over 50 in less than three months, as police warn that criminals who are on the list will be caught. Up to 30 officers targeted addresses across the force area, including Peterlee, Darlington, and Stanley.

A cannabis farm in Easington Colliery, worth an estimated street value of GBP 2 million, was discovered and dismantled during the operation. Weapons, drugs, and cash were also seized at other locations.

Superintendent Lee Gosling of Durham Constabulary emphasized that the force will continue to use all available resources to apprehend criminals and urged the public to report any information regarding potential criminal activity in their communities.
