On March 20, 2023, protesters in Marseille, France clashed with police as nationwide strikes and protests against pension reform continued. The activists are likely to continue the protests and strikes through late March.

The protests have caused major disruptions to transportation systems throughout the country. Protesters have been blocking major roads, including ring roads close to major cities, and obstructing access to transport hubs such as bus and train depots. As a result, the national railways operator, SNCF, has warned of disruption to intercity and regional train services. The RATP network in the Paris region has also been impacted, with only two out of three trains running on several lines.

The strikes have also affected other sectors of the economy, with some schools and businesses closing as a result. The protesters are demanding that the government abandon its proposed pension reforms, which they argue will disproportionately affect workers and retirees.
