Officials at London's Indian High Commission provoke Sikh protesters below in a stand-off over flags
Sikhs protesters staged a protest outside the Indian High Commission in London (March 22) after arrest warrant was issued for Sikh preacher Amritpal Singh, and the suppression of civil liberties, amid an internet blackout in the state of Punjab for the fourth consecutive day.
On Sunday, after a group of protesters attempted to remove the Indian national flag from the building and replace it with a separatist Khalistan flag, causing a diplomatic incident. Officials, perceived to be a tit-for-tat demonstration, displayed the tricolour in the windows and tied a giant flag across the building.
Later on, staff appeared on the roof with an Indian national flag that spanned the length of the building, whilst gesturing at the Sikhs below.
It was alleged black ink was sprayed from the embassy building onto the protesters, which hit a dozen people, including police officers.
The black ink can be seen in the footage on a man's turban and on Khalistan flags.
