A female restaurant owner says she feels liberated by dressing like a stripper - which has seen customer numbers soar.

Single mum Siriarinthorn Phongthanasindetchot, 37, swapped her apron for sparkly dresses and high heels when she opened the hot pot meat cafe in Pattaya, Thailand.

Her appearance - complete with cosmetic surgery on her face and blue hair - has drawn criticism for being too showy but has been a hit with loyal customers.

They are now used to seeing Siriarinthorn posing and pouting as she struts among the tables of the busy restaurant, which has boomed from people sharing pictures of her in glamorous outfits.

Defiant Siriarinthorn, also known by her nickname Noon, said she has no plans to cover up and has even doubled-down on her decadent dresses - exposing even more of her curvy body.

‘If Hooters can run restaurants with girls showing their bodies in hot pats, then so can I,' said Siriarinthorn.

Footage recorded from Siriarinthorn's restaurant on March 22 shows the sexy cook demonstrating how she makes food in the kitchen.

She says in the video introducing a dish: ‘This is Ruammit tom yum. This is the traditional style tom yum with real 100 per cent lime juice. At my restaurant, the noodles are not expensive so everybody can eat them.

‘The lobster here is only 400 THB (9.52 GBP) and the size is very big. I like dressing up and when I used to live with my mother, she hated it. Until today she doesn't like me dressing like this.

‘But because of how she hated it, I felt suppressed. I wanted to dress and prove to her that I can become successful. I'm not even going out and enjoying the night.'

Siriarinthorn added that while she has critics, most people support her work and like what she does.

The chef said: ‘As a seller, I dress sexily while selling food to get attention from visitors. The food we make here has been passed down from my grandmother, then to my mother, and now to me. The food here is delicious and a high standard.

‘You also get to see the cook who dresses sexy to attract more customers to come and eat and enjoy our services.

‘My dressing style is one of the reasons there are more customers. There are two points of view. There are people who dislike and people who like.

'People who come to my restaurant know that even though I dress like this, I am a hardworking single mom who takes care of my children by myself. I make a living with honesty.'

Due to her experiences, Sirianthorn believes she is an inspiration to other women.

She said: ‘I love dressing up and I want to be beautiful. I don't go out. I'm not focused on the negative view because every day in the morning, I thank myself and I make myself feel good.

‘When customers leave comments or when strangers insult me, I would ignore them because I told myself that I will not allow negativity into my life. It's just me who has to work and take care of my family and my three children. I'm a single mom.'

As she refused to focus on the negative comments, the restaurant owner added she is grateful to those who adore her.

She said: ‘I would like to thank you from my heart. I want to ask for a chance from people who told me that I am a bad woman just because I dress sexily to please come and get to know me and taste my food.

‘I'm not dressing because my shop is not making sales. My restaurant has been making good sales for a long time and I have always dressed like this. But lately, I dress more because my mum became more accepting of me.

'I want everybody to adjust their thinking and point of view. I, as a cook who dresses sexy, am asking for a chance to visit my restaurant.'
