PETA activists wear huge mice masks during a demonstration outside the UK's Home Office, responsible for the regulation of animal experiments.

Protesters demand that the UK government introduces a policy banning forced swim tests which they describe as "cruel".

"Experimenters induce panic in mice and rats, who are forced to swim in cylinders filled with water, terrified they will drown. The animals are then killed and their brains are studied. An increasing number of companies and organisations have refused to support such studies", explains an article released by PETA.

PETA activist ‘mice’ staged a protest on 27 March outside the Home Office, which is responsible for the regulation of animal experiments, to demand that the UK government introduces a policy that prevents cruel forced swim tests. In the tests, experimenters induce panic in mice and rats, who are forced to swim in cylinders filled with water, terrified they will drown. The animals are then killed and their brains are studied.
