2 majestic bearded vultures, 2.8m wingspan largest birds in swiss Alps, are seen fighting mid-air over territory dispute.
Two huge birds, majestic bearded vultures, with 2.8m wingspans, are seen fighting mid-air.
The one with the yellow body is an adult, and he probably defends his territory as he is nesting in the valley. The darker one is a juvenile.
Bearded vultures had sadly been extinct from the Alps , killed by stupid humans, but luckily they have been successfully re-introduced by a very complex and decades-long program by the VCF Vulture Conservation Foundation.
This scene was observed from very far distance, filmed handheld in 5x slowmotion ( 120fps over 24 ) with a strong telelens and additionnally cropped in edit for better close-up view, from 4K down to HD720.
camera : Canon EOS R5C , handheld,
lens : Canon RF 800 /11
Location: in Ardon, central Valais canton, Switzerland.
