A ‘Spider' goat with eight legs was born in the Philippines.

The kid - named Maya by her astonished owners - was born second in a litter of two delivered by local farmers in Bohol province on March 11. She appeared normal except for the four extra limbs dangling from her chest.

Aside from Maya's malformed body parts, owner Mera Boco said the creature was healthy and did not have other apparent illnesses.

Footage from Monday, March 27 shows Maya in her enclosure. Her owners said she is strong and healthy and they have not taken her to a vet.

She said: 'Maya loves to play with her sibling and the other animals. They stay with their mother and we let them run around the field.

'Maya is strong. She's healthy and we haven't taken her to a vet. I think she will be fine.'

Mera added they would keep Maya as a pet and let the mother goat and siblings work on the farm,

Mera said: ‘Maya is our lucky charm. It's the first time we have seen a creature like her so I believe she is very special and one of a kind.'

Maya is believed to have a condition called dipygus which is a severe genetic deformity causing duplication of body parts.
