This is the moment a tent was blown away during a summer storm in Thailand.

Fierce gusts struck the field in the Buachet District of Surin province while locals were holding a sports event on March 26.

Footage shows how the gales toppled over the tents, detaching the canopies from steel posts and sending spectators scattering from their seats.

Onlooker Rung Phu Pha said no one was hurt from the incident, but organisers had to set the tents back up.

The Thai Meteorological Department said the southerly and southeasterly winds were prevailing over the country's central, eastern, and northeastern regions.

High temperatures with isolated thunderstorms and gusty winds are expected in northern Thailand, the agency said.
