This cop in Thailand offers massages to complainants 'to ease their tension' while visiting the police station.

Police Lieutenant Pakronkrit Thongsuk, 58, gives free rub downs to visitors of the Nongtrud Police Station in Trang province.

A front desk officer who regularly faces the public, he said he noticed that many locals were visibly distraught while filing complaints or reports.

He decided to offer his services, dubbed 'Massage to Relieve Distress', to frazzled villagers to help relieve their worries, if only for a few minutes.

Station visitors are treated to a glass of cold water and free herbal candies.

With their permission, Pakronkrit - a certified masseuse at the provincial public health office - then administers the spa treatment, kneading at tight knots in people's necks, backs, shoulders, legs, and feet to relax them.

He said the massage also helps with investigations, as complainants are more level-headed and calmer during questioning.

Pakronkrit said: 'I plan to become a masseur once I retire from the police force in around three years. I like helping people.'

In addition to his massage services, Pakronkrit is also the sole instructor of the Drug Abuse Resistance Education program at the station.

The program is aimed at addressing drug-related issues in schools, with devoted Pakronkrit even donating part of his salary to provide scholarships for needy students.

The officer said: 'I plan to continue teaching until retirement, since I am committed to helping children grow to be better people and avoid drug addiction.'
