Calls have been made to make a COVID-19 memorial wall in London a permanent fixture to remember those lost during the pandemic.

On its two-year anniversary the person who painted the first heart on the wall, Matthew Fowler, has called for it to stay.

Footage from March 29 shows the wall outside St Thomas' Hospital covered in thousands of hearts and pictures of loved ones.

Fowler told the BBC: "Through our hard work and through the public recognition of a memorial like this, the hope is that it will eventually become a permanent fixture."
