A woman claims she found a large number of black insect eggs when she opened a bag of pads in southern China.

Video filmed in the city of Nanchang in Jiangxi Province on March 26 shows a woman named Zhang opening a bag of Qiaofei pads and discovering a lot of black insect eggs inside the wrapper.

Zhang stated that she had brought a box of the product back in December 2020 and she did not notice anything unusual after using a few pieces.

However, she suddenly discovered many insect eggs this time. She was scared and feared that she might be infected.

The customer service from Qiaofei responded to the incident, stating that the sanitary napkin that the woman took in the video was discontinued in 2020, and according to the shelf life, it should have already expired.

Subsequently, Ms Zhang has confirmed that the pads did indeed expire on March 11.

Qiaofei's employee explained that after exceeding the shelf life, the seal of the product may be affected. Normally the products that have been factory-tested should not have such issues.

The company has launched an investigation in response to Ms Zhang's report of the problem.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
