Violent squalls hammered roads during a summer storm in northeast Thailand.

Footage shows powerful bursts of wind blasting the road outside a meatball shop in Chaiyaphum province on Wednesday afternoon March 29.

The gusts blew cardboard boxes from the shop as locals scrambled to retrieve empty bins and toys rolling onto the road.

A worker waited for the gales to subside before setting out for a delivery in his truck.

The Thai Meteorological Department said the southerly and southeasterly winds were prevailing over the country's central, eastern, and northeastern regions.

High temperatures with isolated thunderstorms and gusty winds are expected in northern Thailand, the agency said.
