Firefighters rescued an elderly man who got trapped on the mudflats of Yuntai Island due to the rising tide in eastern China.

Heroic video filmed in the city of Yantai in Shandong Province on March 27 shows firefighters setting up a makeshift bridge using safety ropes and ladders to reach the elderly man.

The rescue team then secured the man with a rescue rope before guiding him to safety.

Thanks to the swift and efficient rescue operation, the elderly man was successfully rescued and brought to safety.
