An elderly woman was rescued from drowning after her boat overturned in Indonesian waters amidst heavy rain on April 1.

The incident took place near Sipora Island in the Mentawai Archipelago Regency.

In a matter of minutes, a search and rescue team quickly saved the woman who had drowned when her small boat overturned when it was hit by a wave.

The swift response from rescuers was feasible because a rescue ship was already nearby.
