30 dolphins wash ashore on Chiba beaches, Japan
30 dolphins washed ashore on several beaches in the town of Ichinomiya, western Chiba, Japan, on April 3.
A woman who was surfing near the area alerted emergency services after she saw many dolphins stranded on the beach.
Locals and surfers tried their best to rescue the animals, but unfortunately, at least five of them died.
Japanese media outlets have reported that the cold waters off the coast of Chiba might have "paralysed" the animals and contributed to their death.
