Brave villagers climb tall tree using shaky ladder to rescue pet cat stuck for two weeks
This is the heroic moment brave villagers climbed a tall tree to save a pet cat trapped on it for two weeks in Thailand.
Locals had been searching for the moggie, which went missing from its owner's home in Lampang province on March 7.
The feline's elderly owners said they had been hearing the cat's cries, but could not find it when they went looking.
Their neighbour, Napa, said: 'We finally found its location when a snack vendor came by and told me he saw the cat wailing up a tall tree.'
Napa then called the subdistrict organisation leaders to retrieve it on March 22.
Since the officers did not have cherry pickers, they instead used a wobbly wooden ladder to scale the tree's trunk. Once they reached the cat's perch, they grabbed it and stuffed it inside a cloth bag before lowering it using a makeshift pulley.
The starving pet gorged on food and drink given by the rescuers. It was later reunited with its delighted owners safe and sound.
