At least 50 people were injured when an EF-3 tornado touched down in Little Rock, Ark., on Friday afternoon, as severe storms spawned dozens of twisters across several states, officials said.

A video shared by Robbie Pryor shows an aerial view of extensive damage across Little Rock on Saturday.

The National Weather Service confirmed the tornado was an EF-3 with peak winds of 165 mph.

It tore a 32-mile path that was 600 yards wide, the agency said.

Mayor Frank Scott Jr. on Friday afternoon said he contacted Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders to request National Guard assistance to respond to the tornado emergency.

"Our message and our mission are really simple: the people will come first and the paperwork will come second," Sanders tweeted Friday night. "We will ensure that every Arkansan who needs help receives it."

President Joe Biden early Sunday approved a disaster declaration for Arkansas, authorizing federal assistance.

According to a statement Sunday from the City of Little Rock, 50 injuries were reported, with no fatalities. An estimated 2,983 structures in the city were impacted by the tornado, officials said.
