A driver cowered inside her car as a wild elephant held up traffic along a road in Thailand.

Kamfang Chanthanipha was with friends on a road trip when they were stuck in the congestion in Chachoengsao province on February 1.

They found the jumbo was checking out the vehicles until it approached their vehicle.

Footage shows the elephant waslking up to them as the panicked Kamfang shouted in the background.

She said: ‘I was a bit scared because the big animal was walking fast. I wasn't sure if it was aggressive.'

The creature eventually left them and walked past the sedan. The car was able to pass through the road.
