A mum has shared her hilarious parenting fail after her son's first baby tooth “disappeared” into thin air.

Chloe Ann Simmons, 27, was over the moon when thought she had seen 10 month old son Jesse's, first tooth coming in, but was left with a huge shock when it suddenly vanished.

When she saw the 'tooth', the Essex-based mum quickly grabbed her phone and began recording.

However, a few moments after hitting the record button it disappeared, leaving the mum very confused.

Chloe had sent a text to her family informing them about her son's milestone, but was quickly humbled when she realised there wasn't a tooth there at all.

It turns out that what the mum had seen was in fact a crumb, not a tooth, and she had to embarrassingly let her family know the hilarious truth.

Chloe shared the parenting fail onto her TikTok account and racked up more than 105,000 views and thousands of likes.

"I had to text everyone to tell them and they all made fun of me, but I told them to look at the video and tell me it didn’t look like a tooth," Chloe, a content creator, told NeedToKnow.online.

"It was actually my stepdad Paul who had seen the ‘tooth’ and I felt really guilty that I hadn’t noticed it sooner because it looked quite big.

"I text my mum and my fiancé to tell them he’d gotten his first tooth.

"It wasn’t until I tried to get a clearer video of it for Facebook, that I realised it had ‘gone’.

"I spent ages looking back on the first video trying to work out how such a big tooth could disappear and that's when I saw all the other crumbs around his mouth and put two and two together."

Chloe says that since the incident, she is now checking her son's mouth every day to make sure she doesn't miss the "magical moment".

After sharing the clip on TikTok with the caption “Another parenting fail added to the book and magical moment gone”, many viewers were quick to sympathise with the mum.

Rosie May insisted: "The top two are gonna come through soon, you can see them!!"

Natty said: "Sometimes they poke out and go back in! I felt a tooth last week in my nine-month olds mouth and it’s gone lol."

Sabba said: "I freaked out thinking my toddler had some really bad cavities when I was super diligent in cleaning his teeth...forgot he just had an oreo."

Alek said: "My daughter's first tooth disappeared for like two months."

Georgia Wilson added: "I did exactly the same thing."
