A storm ripped the roof from a stall as it blew through a fair in northern Thailand.

Footage shows gusty winds sweeping away the tent covers at a fairground in Lampang province on March 18.

Onlooker Kamolsak said: 'I was about to play balloon darts, but the storm ruined my plans when it hit the stalls.'

The Thai Meteorological Department said the southerly and southeasterly winds were prevailing over the country's central, eastern, and northeastern regions.

High temperatures with isolated thunderstorms and gusty winds are expected throughout April in northern Thailand, the agency said.

Thailand and other countries in Southeast Asia are approaching their annual monsoon rainy season which sees soaring temperatures followed by powerful rain storms.
