A dog owner in Massachusetts was surprised when a tick that he set on fire exploded all over him with a loud bang.

The filmer, who shot the clip at his home Worcester on June 21st, 2021, set a tick on a burning piece of kitchen roll after pulling it from his dog.

He commented: "Two years ago I found a tick on my dog, so I took a string and tied it around its head to get it off my dog. After struggling to get it off without its head ripping off, I finally got it off.

"The first thing on my mind was I wanted to have a little fun experiment, so I decided to place it on a paper towel and burn it to see what would happen. Little did I know ticks exploded when they are burned which is why I screamed at the end of the video.

"I do not recommend anyone do this at home because ticks may carry lyme disease, I didn't know this until recently."
