The Ken Chin Sah Cemetery in Bandar Lampung city, Indonesia was filled with hundreds of Chinese descendants for the Cheng Beng tradition or also known as the Qing Ming Festival. The activity began with cleaning the graves of ancestors and relatives who have passed away. After cleaning the graves, the Chinese descendants immediately conducted prayers and gave various offerings.

For the Chinese ethnic group, the Cheng Beng or Qing Ming Festival is very important and should not be missed. In addition to commemorating and honoring and praying for the souls of ancestors, this tradition also strengthens the relationship with relatives. The Chairman of the Hakka Metta Sarana Lampung Foundation, Alesius Bunawan, said that the Cheng Beng tradition is usually used as a moment to gather with family for the Chinese ethnic group. This shows that family relationships remain strong even after parents or ancestors have passed away.

In addition to carrying out routine rituals, the residents who are members of the Chinese ethnic organization in Lampung Province also hold a Cultural Festival. Starting from the Barongsai attraction to Wushu, this activity is a manifestation of their efforts to preserve the cultural traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation. Alesius Bunawan, the Chairman of the Hakka Metta Sarana Lampung Foundation, explained that the Cheng Beng ritual is commemorated to honor ancestors because some Chinese people in the past did not know religion. Therefore, they believe that praying to ancestors will be blessed, protected, and given good fortune for the years to come.
