A Full Pink Moon illuminated the sky of Switzerland on the night of April 6.

This astronomical event marks the first full moon of spring in both the Northern and Southern hemispheres. However, contrary to its name, the moon does not actually turn pink during this phase. According to experts, the Pink Moon was named by Native Americans after an early-blooming wildflower that is commonly found around this time of year.

"The images were taken shortly before the moon was setting behind mountains to the west", explained the filmer.
