A 2.5-metre pink phallic statue was paraded through the streets of Kawasaki, Japan, as the city celebrated a festival dedicated to safe sex practices.

Footage from April 2 shows the Kanamara Matsuri festival in full flow as a Mikoshi displaying a pink penis was carried.

According to local videographer Rodrigo Marin, the festival has been celebrated since the early 1600s "attracting thousands of foreign and local visitors to honour fertility and promote safe sex practices."
