This robot-fanatic made an incredible 2.5m (8.2 feet)-tall human exoskeleton that he uses to walk around the streets outside his home.

Daisuke Miyamoto said the futuristic suit took him and two friends around three months to build. He is seen in the video operating the device Hachioji, Tokyo.

The aluminium exoskeleton mimics its wearer's movements, all the way down the fingertips.

Daisuke said: "The skeleton is made of aluminium and the exterior is made of urethane foam. It took around three months to manufacture. There was me and two other people working on it."

Daisuke and his pals have launched the Skeletonics Factory to produce similar robots.

He added: "Skeletonics is a company in Tokyo that allows factory tours and riding experiences with their robot suits. It took three people to build this one."

"The exterior is produced in cooperation with a famous Japanese special-effects model maker. The skeleton is made of aluminium and the exterior is made of urethane foam."
