Strict security as Palestinian Muslims go to Al-Aqsa Mosque for Ramadan Friday prayers amid Israel tension
Muslims passed Israeli checkpoints on their way to Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem for Friday prayers during Ramadan on 7 April.
Security was particularly tight amid heightened Israeli-Palestinian tension.
Israeli police have stormed the Mosque several times this week, to remove worshippers barricading themselves in over fears hardline Jewish groups would attempt to sacrifice an animal in the grounds for Passover, which this year coincides with Ramadan, along with Holy Week for Christians.
In response to the storming, Palestinian groups -- Israel blames Hamas -- have fired rockets into Israel from Gaza and Lebanon. Israel has responded with air strikes.
The video shows the scene in the West Bank town of Bethlehem, where Palestinian Muslims pass a checkpoint.
Muslims around the world celebrate the Islamic holy month of Ramadan with prayer and abstaining from eating, drinking, and sexual acts during the period between sunrise and sunset.
