This is the moment a have-a-go-hero businesswoman rugby tackled two thieves who tried to steal almost £1,000 worth of perfume from her posh boutique.

Domonique [CORR] Woodward, 31, runs perfume store Fragrance House in Malvern, Worcs., with her parents.

CCTV shows the two men enter the store at around 3pm on Tuesday (4/4) and pretend to start browsing the shelves.

They then began piling expensive products into bags, but Domonique bravely blocked the door with her body to prevent them getting away.

One of the yobs punched Domonique in the ribs but the footage shows she carried on tackling the thieves.

The crooks finally dropped the bag with around £800 worth of goods inside but fled with around £200 worth of smellies.

Domonique, who has worked at the shop for 14 years, said: "They came in looking like "
normal customers, I greeted them like I would any customer.

"We've had pickpockets before but I wasn't expecting to be attacked."

"It was 100 per cent adrenaline which made me fight back - it was a fight or flight instinct and I chose to fight."

"I still don't know if I am impressed with myself or just stupid."

"After the first guy punched me, I don't think they were expecting me to carry on trying to stop them."

"But I couldn't just let them go."

After the thieves ran off, Domonique was treated by checked over by her husband Nicholas, who is a nurse.

Domonique added: "It shouldn’t be that you have to make it as hard as possible for people to get into your shop to deter the few who are causing havoc."

"It should never have happened in the first place."

"But if I hadn't put the fight up, and they had got away, they would have seen us as an easy target to do it again and again."

West Mercia Police have launched an investigation into the robbery.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Officers attended and a thorough search of the area was carried out but the suspects were not located. "

"An investigation, including the review of local CCTV footage, is ongoing."
