Visit the First Vanilla Factory in Papua Province
This factory houses Vanilla produce from 3027 Vanilla farmers in 4 districts and employs 60 indigenous people. December 2022, capable of exporting 30 tons of dried Vanilla abroad. This factory is managed by a man from Bali, I Wayan Suasta, as well as the Coordinator of the National Business Association (NBCA) Papua Region.
What actually happened in the video?
This video shows a place where vanilla plants are managed by an institution called the National Cooperative Business Association (NCBA) which is coordinated by a man from Bali, I Wayan Suasta. This place is the only place in Papua Province, Indonesia that has consistently received Green Vanilla harvests from farmers for 5 years. Furthermore, this green vanilla will be processed to dry in this place and then sent out.

In general, those involved in this video are the NCBA Coordinator, I Wayan Suasta (60 years old) along with the staff and the vanilla farmers who are assisted.

Vanilla plants have not been widely cultivated by people in Papua, even though from a geographical and land perspective it is very suitable. Some farmers plant them, but then they don't care for them and grow wild. The reason is because they do not know where to market. Therefore, this video can motivate farmers to start planting vanilla to meet their economic needs in the future.
