Sky turned orange as a ferocious sandstorm engulfed a city in northern China.

The video was filmed in the city of Ulanqab in Inner Mongolia on April 10.

A fierce sandstorm reportedly swept through the city around 3:00 pm. The streets were plunged into darkness as a wall of yellow sand engulfed the city.

The local weather bureau had issued a red warning signal (the strongest level) for sandstorms earlier that day. Despite the warning, the sandstorm hit with full force, bringing visibility down to less than 50 metres and covering everything in a thick layer of sand.

4月10日下午三时左右，内蒙古乌兰察布市四子王旗，强沙尘暴突然来袭，黄沙铺天盖地，城市瞬间“入夜”。受沙尘天气影响，天空已经变成了橙红色，空气中弥漫着黄沙的味道。建筑物若隐若现，恍若瞬间白日骤变黑夜，形同灾难电影里面的末日景色。
四子王旗气象台2023年04月10日14时49分发布沙尘暴红色预警信号，午后至夜间强沙尘暴天气仍将持续，最小能见度将小于50米。
