Dramatic motorcycle chase as cops arrest suspected drug dealer in Thailand
Police have arrested a suspected drug dealer and seized thousands of amphetamine pills after a dramatic motorcycle chase through streets in Thailand.
Body camera footage shows officers pursuing Kittisak Chantasorn, 37, who was speeding away from them on his motorbike through Chaiyaphum province shortly past midnight on April 5.
The cops managed to catch up to Kittisak, but the man sprinted off in a last-ditch attempt at evading arrest. He was quickly caught and cuffed in front of a shop.
Sergeant Colonel Thapanit Khukaew, group commander at the Samrong Tai Police Station, said: 'I had gone out to patrol around the neighbourhood when I received a radio notification calling for backup.
'The suspect was near the Soi Wat Mahawong area, and tried to escape when he saw patrolmen following him.'
Police initially found no contraband when they searched through Kittisak's bag. But when they inspected his motorcycle they found some 12,000 methamphetamine pills sealed in 30 small plastic bags hidden under the leather seat.
The drugs have been seized, while Kittisak was charged with possession of a category I narcotic for selling or distribution.
