More than 100 shops ravaged by fire in northern India

A fierce fire broke out in the vegetable market located at some distance from the Mahabodhi temple in Bodh Gaya afternoon on 11th April .

In this incident, more than one hundred shops and the goods kept inside were burnt to ashes.

The flames were so fierce that even the members of the fire brigade could not muster the courage to control them. Black smoke coming out of the flames spread like a cloud in the sky.

Local shopkeeper told that four goats including fruits, vegetables, eggs have died in this incident. the garbage is dumped in the lower part of the market, in which someone had set it on fire. The flames engulfed the vegetable market as well.

By the time the shopkeepers could understand anything, the flames engulfed the entire market. He said that the fire department was informed about the incident. Then the personnel arrived with two fire engines. By then it was too late. Later the water of the fire engine also ran out.

After some time the fire engine from Gaya reached, then the fire was completely controlled. After that the aggrieved shopkeepers reached their respective shops and started assessing the damage.
