A three-year-old boy's Spiderman bike was stolen outside a store in Rockland, Maine, USA, while he was with his mother.

The theft was captured on CCTV, which showed a man on a bike with what appeared to be the stolen toy. Later, a homeless woman who had heard about the theft contacted the police and bought a new Spider-Man bike, complete with helmet, for the child. She had to give up her home and live in her car, but still chose to make the generous donation.

The woman wished to remain anonymous and did not want anything in return for her act of kindness. The police handed over the donated bike and equipment to the victim's mother, who was overwhelmed by the generosity of others.

The woman's selflessness triggered an outpouring of support from locals wanting to help her, and a local non-profit called the Mid-Coast Recovery Coalition collected almost $1,200 in donations for her.
