This is the heartwarming moment a lost love bird wandered inside a classroom and sang to pupils.

Footage shows the tiny green parrot whistling beautiful notes while perched on a curtain rod at a school in Caloocan City, the Philippines on March 29.

The friendly bird flew to an empty chair and rested while an amused teacher and students watched it.

Teacher Syra Enriquez said in the video: ‘Have you eaten yet? Are you going to sit in on teacher Syra's classes? You need to write too. Give it a pencil and paper.'

After spending about half an hour in the room, Syra said they eventually let the creature fly away.

She said: 'We don't know if someone owns the bird but we allowed it to do and go where it wanted. It left after playing with us for a little while.'
