Huge crowd of junior doctors march on Department of Health during first day of strike
Thousands of junior doctors descended into central London during the first day of a four-day strike (April 11).
Industrial action was called over pay and patient safety, in a walk out that is set to last until Saturday morning - the second time the medics, representing around 40% of the NHS workforce have gone out on strike.
The crowd marched from Trafalgar Square to the Department of Health and Social Care, where they chanted that health minister, 'Steve Barclay is a liar' and 'claps don't pay the bills'.
The health minister said the strikes were disappointing, and the demands for the payrise were 'unreasonable'.
