A singleton who moved to the UK from Australia alone is on a mission to go on '50 first dates' to find a partner.

Hannah Zaslawski, 30, decided to up sticks and move to Hackney, East London, from Newtown, Sydney, Australia, last year alone - because she had "always wanted to"."

In a bid to settle in, explore London and make some connections, Hannah made it her mission to go on 50 first dates.

Hannah - who works in a café - dates both men and women and has so far been on 16 dates including visiting pubs, museums and galleries.

Her mission has given her the perfect opportunity to explore London's social scene and meet new people - and she says she'll remain friends with some of her dates.

Hannah says it's helped boost her self-confidence - reminding her not to "settle for people" and taught her about what she wants in a partner."

She hopes she won't complete the full 50 first dates before meeting the love of her life - and stopping her challenge.

Hannah said: "It started as something fun to do - purely to give my friends back home an update on my dating life."

"I had been talking about doing 50 first dates for a while and my friend encouraged me to go for it."

"It's been fun, and so far everyone has been lovely."

"Even if a date hasn't gone that well, everyone has been a nice person that I had a good time with."

"It’s encouraged me to not hold onto things too long – if I have a great date but it doesn’t go anywhere, I can just put it down to a great date and move on."

Hannah said she decided to go ahead with the 50 dates to help her find friends in London.

Since moving to London in July 2022, she has been on 16 dates - and she says they have all been "good" so far."

Hannah meets her dates, both men and women, on dating websites, social media, and in person - and reviews them on TikTok after.

She said depending on her work schedule she will go on dates twice a week some weeks, and other weeks no dates at all.

She said: "There's no time frame to complete 50 dates - to be honest, hopefully I don't reach 50. "

"If I reach 50, I'm probably the red flag at that point."

But she said the plan has not only helped her get to know people, but upped her confidence.

She said: "It's really important to add, at the end of the day, you're the person you wake up with."

"Going on lots of dates is good because you're focused on yourself and don’t get caught up on one person - it teaches you that you don’t have to settle."

Hannah says, since documenting her London dating experiences, she's been able to inspire other women.

People have reached out to her to say seeing her posts has encouraged them to date.

Hannah said: "Dates can be really scary, I'm pretty extraverted but I've had a few people reach out to say its encouraged them and make dating seem less scary."

"The main thing is to be confident in yourself and remember you're the prize."

"It's not about impressing them - it's about getting to know one another and having a good time."
