A ferocious sandstorm engulfed a city in northern China on April 9.

Video filmed in Bayannuur khot in Inner Mongolia shows the sandstorm engulfing the buildings and turning the sky orange.

An orange warning signal (the second strongest level) for the sandstorm was issued earlier this week in the region, and the visibility was less than 500 meters.

Eighteen provinces and cities in the country were affected by the storm.
