A massive forest fire engulfed a mountain after reigniting in central Thailand.

Footage shows the blaze glowing orange as it raged in the Khao Laem - Khao Tabaek area in Nakhon Nayok province on April 10.

The fires started in March but had been brought under control by April 2. However, they rekindled at 5 PM on Monday.

Provincial governor Bancha Chaowarin ordered firefighters to respond to the blaze, but personnel had to wait until morning as the path was treacherous at night.

High winds had caused the fires to spread quickly, with firefighters monitoring the bases of the mountains to keep them from breaching residential areas.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment deployed a helicopter on April 11, while more than 100 firefighters were also dispatched to combat the fire.

Fire breaks were constructed around the Khao Yai National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

As of April 11, the fire had razed an estimated 40 to 80 acres of forest.
