This is the adorable moment a Shih Tzu played dead when its owner tried to fit it with a diaper.

The clever pooch named Porkchop refused to cooperate as fur dad Brennen Eusebio attempted to put a diaper on it at their condominium in Pasig City, the Philippines, on March 9.

Footage shows how Porkchop stiffened up its body when Brennen lifted it to attach the diaper.

When Brennen walked away with nappy in hand feigning defeat, Porkchop immediately shot up victoriously - only to lie back down and play possum upon seeing the diaper again.

Fur mum Chanel Eusebio said: 'Porkchop is trained to always be wearing a diaper since we used to live in a hotel, and now in a condo. Despite being used to wearing one, we can tell he hates it because everytime we change it, he always lies down and plays dead.'
