Typhoon Amang floods streets as it lashes homes in the Philippines
Streets were flooded as a tropical depression Typhoon Amang lashed homes in the Philippines.
Video shows the deluge submerging a neighbourhood street in the Buhi municipality of Camarines Sur province amid heavy rain on April 12.
The downpour had caused a nearby river to burst its banks, sending water towards residential areas.
The tropical depression named locally as 'Amang' made landfall in the archipelago's Catanduanes province on April 11 evening.
As of April 13, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said around 275 people in the country's eastern Bicol region have been evacuated from their homes.
State weather bureau Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Amang was moving northwest, warning of possible landslides and flash floods.
It is expected to weaken into a low pressure area by today, the agency added.
The Philippines and neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia are approaching their annual monsoon rainy season which sees soaring temperatures followed by powerful rain storms in the afternoon leading to widespread flash floods.
