Chinese officials demolish popular 'daredevil stone' on cliff due to safety concerns
Officials demolished a popular stone on a cliff due to safety concerns in central China.
Video filmed in the city of Anyang in Henan Province on April 10 shows tourists posing on the edge of a cliff for photos.
Another clip shows a machine being used to destroy the stone on the edge of the cliff.
Officials from Hejian Town government clarified that the so-called "daredevil stone" was not a legitimate ticketed attraction, but merely a protruding rock from the cliff.
Although warning signs were posted to prevent visitors from approaching the crack, some still ventured too close for the perfect photo op. Due to concerns for visitor safety, the "daredevil stone" was destroyed on the morning of April 11.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
