Moray eel jumps out of ocean on to beach to grab crab and drag it back to ocean
This is the incredible moment an eel jumped on to a beach to hunt a crab before dragging its prey back into the ocean.
Albert Martinez was walking along the sands of Roi Namur, Marshall Islands, when he spotted an undulated moray persistently stalking some food.
Amazing footage shows the moment the eel slithers out of the water and along the shore in pursuit of the unfortunate crab.
On the third attempt, the lightning fast eel grabbed its meal in its jaws and dragged it back from dry land and into its usual marine habitat where it finished it off.
Albert said: "The fight was about two minutes long. The eel chased the crab out of the water then continued to pursue it on the sand.
"I was very surprised the moray had so much fight in it on dry land and I was also shocked the crab didn't really put up much of a fight either.
"I thought the crab would have pinched and cut up the eel but the eel just seemed to be too fast and aggressive for the crab.
"After the video ended the eel proceeded to eat the crab. It would bite down on it then wrap it like a pretzel as it did in the video to help tear off legs and pieces."
