Outdoor escalator buckles and folds during operation in southern China
A shocking incident occurred on April 4th, when an outdoor escalator in Guangzhou's bustling Zhujiang New Town malfunctioned.
The incident was captured by a woman named Ms Zhang, who heard an abnormal noise and shouted to inform people on the escalator to escape.
The escalator started to buckle and fold after the people on the upper section of the escalator left.
The local emergency management department responded by stating that the escalator maintenance unit has repaired and rectified the fault, and a comprehensive inspection of similar escalators on the same route will be carried out.
