On the night of April 11, residents of Bogdanovich, a small town in Russia, were baffled by a loud explosion. Eyewitnesses said that the blast occurred shortly after a bright object streaked across the sky, leaving a trail of fire behind.

The cause of the explosion remains unclear. In an article published by the Russian media group RBK Group, Vladilen Sanakoev, an engineer at Ural Federal University, said that he believes the object was a stone meteorite.

The driver who captured this clip described it as a "fireball" that flew ahead of his car before disappearing. He said he then heard a deafening boom and felt a shockwave that made his vehicle shake.

Many others reported to have seen a flash of light before the explosion.
