Suspected trafficker 'dressed cat in baby clothes to smuggle drugs' in Russia
A suspected drug dealer in Russia's Ural Mountains city of Nizhny Tagil dressed a domestic cat in baby clothes in an apparent attempt to smuggle drugs.
The woman responsible was detained by the Ministry of Internal Affairs on April 13. Five bundles of drugs were found hidden in the clothes.
According to reports, the suspect had disguised herself as a mother walking with her underage daughter and infant. However, the infant in her hands was actually a domestic cat.
During a search, police also found five packages of N-Methylephedrine hidden in the clothes.
The suspect was arrested in a holiday village on the outskirts of the city, where she had been staying temporarily. It is believed that she is not a local resident and had been directed by an anonymous employer to carry out the smuggling operation.
Further investigations led to a search of her apartment, where electronic scales, packaging materials, as well as plastic containers and bundles with prohibited substances were seized, according to reports.
The woman is currently in police custody and is facing charges of drug trafficking and possession.
