The Dursley Pedersen bicycle was invented by Danish national Mikael Pedersen in the late 19th century and featured a "hammock" saddle and cantilevered frame design at a time when penny farthings were on the roads.

Enthusiasts from across the country visited Dursley on April 15 and paid homage to the inventor on the 130th anniversary of the patent for the Dursley Pedersen bike.

Organiser John Bradshaw explained what makes the bike unique, and why it has such an enduring design.
