Derbyshire police have descended upon a sleepy suburban part of Derby this evening (April 16) after reports that a driver was shot at before crashing a car into a house.

Forensics and detective officers from the force were at the scene on Java Court, Derby as the investigation continues.

Two vehicles were seen within the cordon with damage. A silver car appeared to have smashed windows and had also collided with a house. A dark Audi had severe damage to the side where it appeared the silver car had collided before hitting the house.

Police have not yet released a statement but several residence have confirmed that they witnessed a vehicle being shot at before crashing into the house. Several other residents have also pleaded for information with one woman desperate to know what was happening as her two little girls were in the area.
