A professional mould remover has gone viral on TikTok sharing a video taken inside the abandoned home of a missing woman – and everything is completely covered in mould.

Ted V, 34, and the Tru Organic Restoration team were called out to the property after reports of a horrific infestation of mould growing inside the house.

He believes the owner, reportedly an elderly woman, has been missing for over a year, leaving the home to rot.

The property was sealed as a microbial hazard, with a respirator and protective clothing required for anyone entering, as Ted worked.

In a video that has garnered over 20 million views and 2.2 million likes on TikTok, Ted shows the extent of the contamination with black mould lining the walls and a fuzzy white mould spread across her possessions.

As Ted rips off pieces of the wall, the black mould can be seen to have penetrated it entirely on either side.

“My initial reaction was pure shock,” Ted, from Houston, Texas, told NeedToKnow.co.uk.

“This was one of the worst cases I’ve seen in a while.

“We were called out to assist with a home that had substantial mould growth inside.

“No one wanted to go inside to search, so they brought us in to help with the efforts.”

Ted shared the footage on TikTok, writing: “When you are called to perform a welfare check on an elderly person… no one has seen or heard from her in over a year.

“She has no friends or family.

“All of her possessions are still inside of the home…but she’s nowhere to be found.”

Viewers have been left horrified by the state of the house.

Heather commented: “If the black mould is THAT BAD I hope she left and never paid rent to whoever owns this place again.”

“No one had heard from her in A YEAR???? and they just did a wellness check now???” another user pointed out.

Someone else added: “That’s mad tho how can someone go completely unnoticed for a year.” [sic]

“She’s there, someone hidden amongst the mess. Too many stories like this,” another user guessed.

Sarah commented: “That’s so sad! People didn’t see her around and didn’t call for a wellness check until a year later?! Poor lady.”

While many users theorised that a body must be present to cause the mould, Ted insists the owner was “nowhere to be found” and says the search has continued to locate her.
