An electric golf cart short circuit sparked fire on a course while it was docked at a charging station.

Dozens of golf carts were being stored at the Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy in Nakhon Nayok, Thailand when the blaze broke out at around 10 PM on April 18.

The fire spread rapidly, engulfing more than 100 electric golf carts in the carpark where they were being kept.

Firefighters rushed to the scene to prevent the inferno from spreading to the nearby mountains.

High winds fanned the flames, causing the carpark building to collapse.

The fire was successfully controlled after two hours. Authorities believe it was started by a short circuit.

Officials said the golf carts belong to a company which runs the course next to the army academy. The company rents the compound from the military to store the carts.

An investigation is ongoing to determine the exact cause and the extent of the damage.
