Baffled customers found a cat cooling off inside a 7-Eleven refrigerator with temperatures outside reaching 38 degrees Celsius.

Warut Koonsap went to the convenience store to buy some drinks when he spotted the orange feline wandering inside the fridge in Chonburi province, Thailand, on April 14.

Footage shows the adorable ginger sitting inside the appliance beside a six-pack of beer. Warut greeted the gentle creature, who eventually climbed out when they opened the fridge door.

Warut said: ‘The fat cat is so cute. Maybe it entered the shop because it was too hot outside. It looked like a stray but wasn't causing damage inside.'

Thailand's summer season runs from March to June, when the tropical country experiences high humidity and little rainfall. Temperatures can soar up to 40 degrees Celsius in the daytime.
