Cannabis smokers celebrate with an oversized spiff during annual 4/20 event in Hyde Park
Thousands of cannabis lovers flocked to Hyde Park today calling for the decriminalisation of the drug during the annual 4/20 event held worldwide (April 20).
Many gathered round as an enormous spliff was handed around and enjoyed by dozens of people - and at 4:20pm exactly, a thick haze rose from the crowd as they simultaneously lit-up in mass celebration.
The tradition began supposedly when a group of High School students in the US gathered to smoke weed during the afternoons and 4/20 became a code name for it.
